moving battery to front

hey guys,

i'm considering going from a 2 battery setup to a single. i currently have one in the back for starting 25hp 4 stroke and one in the front for lights and sounder. now i'm thinking thats probably an overkill so i want to do away with the one in the back, given the merc has a pull start as well as electric, if worse comes to worse i just give it a pull. my question is what cable do i use for connecting the merc to the battery as what is there now is not long enough? and, can i join them if done properly or should it be one piece? any help and advice muchly appreciated guys.

You need to know the starting amps of the motor, then buy cable to suite.

How far to the other battery? If not to far cheapest way to get some cable is an old set of jumper leads, otherwise its fairly pricey to buy.

mate its about 3 metres to the front battery and i think the existing cables is 1.5m or so. how exy are we talking, ballpark figure?
