queensland bretts wharf 6/3/09

Went to bretts with teck again on friday night, had a bit of fun.

first fish went to me with a dirty catfish (before teck arrived). i also got busted off by a shark soon after, bugger of a thing got its tail wrapped in my braid somehow, after 1m of wire and 2m of 60lb leader :\ but anyway i saw the rod thumping the way it does when somethings tail is wrapped in it and as soon as i set the drag the leader popped with no effort at all. oh well!

teck set up and we set our baits out front while throwing lures out back. i snagged a little flattie maybe 20cm on a gold bomber half his size, then tecks rod went off and up came one of them ocean toadies lol about 30cm and all. nice golden colour to it.

next strike went to me with a huge eel, maybe 5ft. cut him free and next hit to teck with a smaller eel, he lives in my freezer now

no more fish after that except a little bream to teck. fun trip despite lack of quality fish, have photos but too lazy to get camera out of car

wonder if anyone's used a toadie for bait before?
