queensland Short session in Raby Bay area

Hi all

Was in raby bay area today so thought i would dedicate an hour to some fishing.

a few bream followed the lure but none wanted to seal the deal.

the was a bit of surface activity around and i managed to get 4 pike and a small moses perch for my efforts. i got one pic before the camera battery called it a day.

One of the pike i released enjoyed his freedom for 5 seconds, then a big fish (GT) came in a smoked him about 6 feet in front of me. i never got a good look at the fish coz i was spooked by the numbers of pike etc jumping out the water when this guy came in for the kill.

i will be making a better effort soon though, maybe hook into that bigger guy,

Wouldn't be surprised if it was a GT. I've seen a school of them, probably 30 fish+, all around the 50cm mark from the pontoon in the boat harbour

Awesome mate, how big did the GT look?

The bream in there are pretty hard to catch landbased, Ive had best succes on small plastics, light jigheads and 3lb leader.

not sure how big the GT was, the pike i released was over a foot long and he became lunch.

when i catch him, i will let you know.

Just check their legal size first, on not sure if they even have one.

I can't find a size limit for pike in the new booklet. So I guess there is no issue with using them as live bait.
