River Mouth/ Bay

I went out to the mouth of the river on Sunday for a bit of a look around and fish.

This was my first time fishing the area so as you can imagine it was not that successful.

I tried around the rock wall at fisherman’s and out towards the leads but no luck. Is there a rule about fishing near the docks at the mouth or anchoring up around this area?

I was just wondering if anyone could provide me with some tips on where to go and landmarks to use as I don’t have a sounder or GPS.
