QORF & SRQ. Worthwhile?

Would it be feasible for AFO to join up with both QORF( Queensland Outdoor Recreation) and SRQ ( Sport Recreation Queensland).

Whilst it would put an additional workload on the owners of the site we would be able to receive advance notice of surveys and changes that may affect us as fishers.

An example is the Wyaralong dam fiasco. If we were a member of QORF we would have received advance notice and would as an organisation been invited to participate in the draft management plan.

Do we as a organisation wish to become involved in such matters?

If not I think that members would certainly wish to have timely advance to that they can submit their own personal views.

In the meantime I have signed up as a private person to receive the QORF newsletter but i do not know how much info is published in the newsletter about forthcoming events. Bur if I had been a subscriber I would have heard about the Wyaralong dam management plan in June.

I reckon that the Traveston project would also be on their books.

Cheers

Ray
