Ill be down at colmslie this morning from about 9:30 - 10 onwards.........catching the high tide to do a bait session with the cast net as freezer stocks are well down.......so if your sitting around doing nothing (as i am ) come say gday..

I have always wondered this, can you take home baitfish such as poddy mullets, prawns etc that you catch for bait?

I usually throw em all back thinking it was illegal to keep them. Would be handy to keep some in the freezer for times when I go for a quick fish and don't want to bring the cast net along

yer i assume you can......whats the difference...you can buy from the bait shop and take them home and put them in your freezer so i dont see why you cant catch your own....

wth? illegal to keep bait caught in the cast net? ( not allowed to fridge it,for the next time) :/ if that was illegal then Ive been doing it all the time !

minimum size for mullet would be the concern as everyone uses the poddies.
