Pair found clinging to capsized boat

Gold Coast Water Police rescued the pair about 11.45am (AEST) yesterday, after receiving reports that a boat had overturned in treacherous conditions.

"Water police located the pair holding onto the hull of their overturned boat after a brief search," police said.

The man, 31, and the woman, 29, both from Daisy Hill, were treated for exhaustion and minor cuts and abrasions.

The stricken vessel has been towed back to shore

the seaway would have been a bit nasty with the big tides that are building and on the run out tide with a big swell trying to push in they would have been standing up. just a couple of days wait and now the swell has dropped dramtically
