queensland nudgee prawns 23/4

Decided to try or a few prawns at Nudgee this morning.

Launched at 5.30 am and a couple of others were there and said that they did ok yesterday so I headed out and joined the mob already out there. Would have been about 30 boats but all scattered around so it didnt look too promising.

Got my first prawn at about 6.30 and started to get one or two in each cast. There were a lot of small ones so I kept some for live bait at Baroon on Wednesday.

Knocked off around 8.30 as the prawns slowed down on the bottom of the tide and it was starting to get a bit warm.

Threw the cast net near the ramp and scored about 8 poddy mullet and a couple of perch so it looks like a sharking trip to Kooka park on thursday or friday may be on the cards.

Ended up with around 1.5 kg of prawns which I have sorted out, some for butterfly prawns for tea tonight and some for sangas and the small ones I am freezing for bait.

Will get feral to post the piccies tonight.

Also be on the $20 live bait tank which was one of the bargains I picked up at the Boaties market on sunday.

Nothing better than fresh prawns.
