any sharks of shorncliffe pier ?

Hi, i was just wondering if anyone has been getting any sharks of the shorncliffe pier at the moment, or if they know of anywhere else that they have been getting any of, that i don't have to park to far away from ( bike broken )

My mate caught a small bullshark about half way up the pier, and I caught a nice ray so I guess that they are out there?? not to sure on the setup but I am guessing you would want to go right to the end of the pier as the tide is going out??

Hi, yeah i was going to fish of the end, for black tips and bullys. don't supposs you would know what tides are best there would you if not then don't matter

now i have been there i quite agree, spent 4 hours there and only got one 20cm toad fish, and the hole place is coverd in fish scales and everybody had about 3 rods each so the was hardly anywhere to fish from

nezt time i will go to the ted smount fishing platform or whatever it is called

Fishing at Shorncliffe can get really frustrating. There is normal a load of people like you said that has 3 rods each. and when people do catch stuff its normally undersized and half the people who go to Shorncliffe keep undersized fish.

fished at woody last night in 1hr 2 sharks got bought in a 15pound bull on 1kg main and 25kg leader (little $30 rod ) the bullie was caught on squid, and the shovel nose was caught on gainhook 3/0 pillys

What about around the corner at Baxter's jetty? Nice channel drop along the jetty itself & at the mouth of Cabbage Tree, protected, with a current for surface floats etc. I haven't been fishing for years actually (but pretty keen to wet a line again), let alone at that spot & have never tried 'sharking' before. I.k.n., it just seems to me a good set up (in theory), for some small sharks? Has anyone had any luck here for any, or know of anyone who has? I was also wondering whether further down, at the first junction where Cabbage Tree Creek starts whether its also inhabited by small Bullies? All I remember about these areas is its ok for the odd keeper bream, flathead & lots of rays.

i went to shultz canal today with some mates and caught 2 around 90cm within the hour and we left them biting

yeah i fish shultzs quite often. got lots of cod, bream, sharks, shovel nose sharks, and heck loads of eels, had a big run the other day of what i am pritty sure was a shuvel nose i am gussing was around the 5ft mark as i have got them toi that size before and it fought the same way
