what to buy. thinking stradic 8000, your thoughts?

My biggest spin reel is a stradic 5000fi

I got smoked by a big longtail on 20 lbs braid

I am going to buy a bigger outfit.

any suggestions?

depending on your price tag, look at a 8000 or if you want realy big try a 14,000 saragosa

or just get a drag upgrade and you will get the same drag as a 8000 and only cost you 30 bucks and have a look at your rod and the reel will be heaps lighter

i've got a saragosa 8000, same physical size and weight as the 5000, greater line capacity and 36 inches of line per crank on retrieve compared to 34 inches... goes alright

if you want to stop fish dead in their tracks, only 1 reel i think will, the accurate spinning reels, dead set stop anything in the water if you know what ya doin, have been known to break rods when no where near the capacity of their drags.and only spinning reels i know of that will handle 110 lb braid. look at the cr 10, 20, 30 . these are designed for 1 thing, to stop stupidly huge fish.
