how do u get bass fingerlings

was just wondering as bass are stocked into almos very dam around the country yet they hav to go into brackish water to breed so how do u get the fingerlings etc. its a question i have wondered for a while would be interesting to get to the bottom of it

I know there are several hatcheries that breed them mate, I am guessing they use a brackish mix of water :/ ?

A lot of typing guys the concise version.

Saltwater.

Broodstock are injected with hormones and stripped manually,eggs and sperm mixed, fertilised eggs in saltwater,eggs hatch larvae absorb yolk sac start feeding on zooplankton in ever increasing sizes and types as salinity reduced out into freshwater growout ponds till they are harvested and stocked.
