Cane rod

I was hopeing someone might be able to give me any info. on a rod which recently came into my possesion.Mainly it's rareity or value ,if any.It's a 2 piece cane rod.Seems very old.It's not round but more hexagonal shaped.Approx.10 ft. long.I can't say that iv'e seen anything like it before.

Prior to fiberglass you had a choice of Rangoon cane or split cane rods any labels left on it?

If it has the original labels such as fenwick it will have a collecter value.

theres a shop at petrie markets thats got a few old cane rods, they might know

Thanks for the feed back guys.Much appreciated.I was going to take a pic but haven't got the camera at the moment.There are no labels on it and it looks like it was hand made by someone.I'll check out the Petrie markets and let you know what i find .Thanks.

I have a couple in the shed my self, never use em as I reakon that they would be brittle..

Cane rods are normally cleaned up and an old wooden Alvey is attached to it and then hung up behing the bar. It is very difficult to get original runners to fully restore them to their former glory.
