as Im fairly new to this site, would the 3 inch shads be viable to deep sea fishing on a paternoster rig, in about 50 metres of water.

Maybe, but if you were chasing snapper etc on a paternoster I would probably go for the 5 Inch Armour Shads.

I had reasonable success in this way at boat rock.
