I caught an equally sized gold fish in this dam also.

Maybe it's a hybrid?

I killed 11 of these "carp hybrids" and dropped 1 goldfish on the bank, lucky for him avoiding a death also.

These had a much fatter and taller body. The single gold fish was equal in length, gold in colour like a pet fish but had a more slender body.

You only need to look at a pet shop to see the variation of khoi, goldies etc. And they are not all gold!
