The mrs' family is from Coffs and we make the trip down a few times a year to catch up , Just wondering if anyone knows of any areas down that way that's suitable to fish fresh , new to the fresh scene and have a handful of different lures I'm keen to give a crack , will be land based ..not after secret spots , just general areas where I can get away from the outlaws , enjoy nature ..and hopefully pick up a bass etc , all info appreciated! Richo

There is not much in Bass fishing in Coffs but heading south there is some fantastic fishing for Bass and Jacks.

25 mins south you have the Kalang and Bellinger Rivers and these both hold large numbers of bass in the upper reaches.

A little further south again you have Deep Creek down near Valla and this creek is great for Bass and Jacks.

Coffs has some great Jacks and in the Coffs Marina at night can produce some very large Jacks.

The Northern wall of the marina is good for Jacks on the harbour side and the outside is great fishing for a multitude of species.

Snorkling along the inside of the wall at night will also give you plenty of lobsters this time of the year.

Thanks Aussie , Kalang , Bellinger , Valla , heard of these places ..be with exploring! Next visit might even take the yak down , might make some of the upper reaches more easily accessible , cheers
