Thinking about fishing Coochie

Hey guys I've been thinking about fishing Coochiemudlo Island from my kayak for a little while now. Just wondering if anybody has done this or even has some general tips when kayak fishing in the bay. I have a Malibu Mini-x so it's nothing too big. Peel was my first plan but its a bit too far for me to paddle to in my kayak. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

coochie is pretty easy, bring some cash and you can stop on the island for a break

im sure some afo members would be out there just post in going fishing

Was a kayak comp out there today mate hahah. many went around peel and did alright, just watch the wind!

Peel would be really good but it's a fair paddle out in the mini-x. They aren't the fastest kayaks out on the water and they get knocked around by the wind as well.

If you have your heart set on Peel, then you can walk on with your yak to the Stradbroke ferry and drop $30 for a return trip to Dunwich, then the paddle to Peel is no more daunting than the one from Viccy Point to Coochie

Cheers for that mate, I hadn't actually thought of that. That's a much easier and quicker way of getting to peel.

If the trevs and kingfish are on you might not even get away from Dunwich. It can really fire up.

I have thought about coochie aswell but is it true that its better fishing on the sea side or the vici point side?

Any out there tried?
