I'll be heading to Moreton Monday morning on a camping trip. Pretty excited as I have never been to Moreton before. We are camping at the wrecks and while I am there I'm looking to do some fishing. Only thing is, I can't find much if any info on what the fishing is like around that area. Anybody who has camped here and fished before? Mainly after some info regarding likely species, is it just a sandy expanse or are there gutters etc? We don't have a car so unfortunately any fishing will be relatively close to the camp site. Any information at all would be fantastic.

On the out going tide, walk the Sandhills just north of wear u will be camping for flatties should pick up some especially if the water is getting warmer

There are some horse bream off the rocks at North Point. The beaches all hold the usual flathead, bream, whiting, long toms etc

Hey guys,

Want to thank everyone for their tips and advice. Couldn't have had a better week over at Moreton. Beautiful weather it was stunning. However the tides were massive and the first few days a bit windy which made it hard to get a plastic to the bottom. Only landed a few bream, however had a good hit and run on a 4" Z-man grub before being busted off. Despite the poor fishing couldn't have asked for a better week.
