queensland Scarborough peninsula report

Nothing to show for it. Hooked up to a mackerel which jumped and spat hook and lost a small bream at the kayak. I tried so many different lure and plastics and techniques. I think I might just revisit the location with bait, some lures and 2 rods. What do you think i did wrong. I know Scarborough is hit and miss but not like this.

Next time I report Scarborough I will catch some fish on bait this time.

I don't know the area nor do I fish it mate but I can tell you that I've had worst sessions than that from a boat, so I wouldn't worry too much. Hooking a mackerel at least confirms you are in the right area for next time. Good luck on the return trip.

Maybe the fishing gods had the day off today. I fished the first 3 hours of the run out this morning around the mouth of the Brissie and could not even raise a bite on plastics or bait. Soaked the pots as well for a couple of undersized muddies. Nice day out though.
