Went to western with Jim and Rick yesterday. I was wishing to go to eastern arm but the forecast was for 20k wind at 7am and the ramp at the western arm is more protected.
The wind never got over 5kph all morning. 56c4df6b2c5e5_P2170302(640x480).jpg.07ef
To make things worse after doing my shrimp traps i managed to spin off the prop on my stern mount motor which made maneuvering in among the trees a bit difficult.

The fishing was a bit quiet with around 24 fish being boated with around equal numbers of bass and tandans but with good company who cares if you do not catch a fish.
 Cheers
Ray

you would think that those motors would have some form of safety guard to prevent that. a pin of some sort even

Prop is secured by a nyloc nut, Trouble is when you have motor in reverse it undoes the nut if you hit something. That is the 3 rd one i have done at hinze was able to retrieve one that was only in 5 ft of water this one was in 20 ft.

Motor was a cheapy chinese one i picked up for 100 bucks was impressed with it till now. Props are not available. a prop off a 55lb kota is the right diameter shaft bore but the slot for the shear pin is too small

Cheers
