queensland Straddy Weekend 1st, 2nd, 3rd April.

Had a cracking weekend at straddy.

Some friends from Denmark were keen to get into some surf fishing.

Kathinka and Katrine were naturals. I think everyone can relate to those frustrating fishing sessions with newbies where everything goes wrong. It could not have been easier with the girls as after only one demonstration, they were cracking their own pippies, baiting them up, casting and pulling in the fish. Pretty awesome actually. I stuck to my plastics which got me a few different species but the girls cleaned up on the dart with Kathinka getting the biggest for the weekend at 45cm. At that size they are amazing fighters and are thick through the body.

I think spangly actually very yellow. We do get both off the rocks from time to time.
