Nana Prawns For Bay Snaps

Hey all

Has anyone got any thoughts on using the so called "fresh" banana prawns from Coles or woolies for moreton bay snapper?

I read an article on using shrimp style plastics for shallow water snapper and how "lethal" it is and thought if the fake rubber things work the real stuff will beat it for dead (litterery as who give up a few fresh snapper fillets!).

Any feedback would be appreciated..

They are a great bait, all fish love them no matter where you fish.  Buy them when on special and freeze them until needed and they will work out heaps cheaper per kilo than the bags of stinky servo prawns. Depending on the size of your hook, you can cut them in half or even thirds for even better value bait.  And the shells are great as berley as you peel them.

Thanks for the feedback Bluevien :)

For sure agree there're better than those servo things - was considering using them for squire rigged on a 1/0-3/0 suicide hook with a fluoro leader and a sz0-00 ball sinker running straight onto the hook, but based on the info I got it's not a  "considering it" it's a "will try it" now.
