Requirements For Lights On Kayaks At Night

Hi,

My main question for this thread is: What requirements are required by law when fishing from a kayak at night in Queensland?

Never done night fishing and wouldn't mind having a go around redland bay soon. I do a lot of lure fishing in dams and estuaries. Would love to catch a mulloway though on bait or lures. Not sure where and how to start though!

Cheers

Nothing required, (except as mentioned on the brisbane river)  you just have to have a light to display if required. IE a torch to shine towards a boat that might be approaching.

But I would recommend an all round white light, mounted above head high and behind (so you can still see). I have one the bloke who sold me my kayak made, an old 2 piece fishing rod bottom with a 2 inch long white light on it that mounts in the rod holder behind me.
