The plan was to fish in the passage with the kids around Hussey Ck on Australia Day.  After a unplanned late start we missed the low tide and therefore struggled to get any yabbies.  Mangaed only a handful of yabbies which the kids turned into one legal whiting and a few grunter bream.  

The bait ran out pretty quickly so the kids were keen to do a run down to Mission Point for a swim.

Got a chance to head back out Sunday morning with the kids so hit the same area.  Was very quiet after the tide change and being the middle of the passage is takes a couple of hours for the tide to get running.  Once we got a bit of run the whiting started to bite with multiple rods going off.  Most of the whiting were solid 30-35cm and a few grunters in the there as well.
