I have just started getting into some land based fishing in and around Cairns. I got a heap of really helpful info from Tiotony on here last week and set out on the weekend to put it all to the test.

I headed down to Cowley beach and to the mouth of the river there just before high tide and started flicking a Gulp Shrimp around (one of Tiotony's suggestions, that man is a god!!!) and after about 30mins BANG! I got my first ever Barra!! He was no monster at 61cm but he pulled hard and even jumped out of the water a few times. I was pumped!! 

Keen to get out and try a few of the spots tiotony has suggested and smash into a few more!

HAHA @tiotony no upgrades yet. I have been away for a few weeks. so no fishing unfortunately. Back now and keen to add to the collection now!!
