queensland Fishing The Banks At North Pine Dam

Hi all. First time posting. I have just just gotten my boating permit for North Pine dam. I was wondering if there is a bank bite at this dam? Or does this fishery fish more like Somerset and winenhoe with a deep water bite?

To answer your question, there is an edge bite but you have to work for it, finding the fish is the hard bit. Bass, yellas and toga from the edges in summer, bass from deep in the winter.

Long story is we used to have massive weedbeds along the edges, but a few years ago the redclaw were in plague proportions and ate out the majority of weed and lilies. So when the bass venture to the edges they do it early or in overcast conditions as they have no where to hide. Average depth the bass normally sit at is 20 to 25 ft, at the moment they are deeper at 35 to 50 ft, so deep sinking lures are needed, blades, spoons, micro jigs etc or bait.

Are they still there? Do you target them?

They are still around, not quite as many as before. No I dont take them any more.
