Keppels: Humpy Island Fly Fishing

I am planning a trip on a beach cat to Humpy Island in the Keppels in October this year and would love to do some land based fly fishing while camping there. Has anyone had any success off the rocks and beaches off the island?

Not sure if you have seen any of Rokkit Kit's youtube videos, but quite a few of his videos are filmed at Halfway Island, just north of Humpy. He doesn't fly fish, but has caught trout, tuskies, cod, etc. on lures there, as well as squid on jigs, plus crayfish when diving. Humpy should be similar. If you sail over to halfway for a fish, just be aware that the eastern side of the island is a green zone.

I'd give that area a miss altogether, it's very hard to find any fish around there. I'd go further north to the Whitsundays, or even Cardell.

We're sailing there, so just looking for fishing advice particularly off Humpy, but thanks anyway
