I’m heading to Magnetic Island in two weeks. I’ve got a boat 4.55m Polycraft centre console booked for 4 days.

Looking for advice on what rods, tackle and lures I should take up and any productive areas to fish?

I’ll be up there with my three young boys so not looking to cover too much distance on the boat. I’d also be keen to know of any location specific things I should be aware of when on the boat. I’ll have Navionics running.

I’ve also got a couple of crab pots so if anyone knows a decent spot to drop them in it would be appreciated as my boys minds would be blown if we can catch a mud crab.

Welcome to the forum mate, even though I live next door basically I've never fished there so cant help you. No doubt there'd be a bait shop over there so could be some help there.
