electric advise

i have an old 14ft quintrex tinnie and was thinking of converting it to an electric as the motor died what would be the best combination of batterys motors etc for trolling mostly in estuarys some times dams or should i just stick a bow mount on my naughtiglass 15ft and sell the tinnie

you can try my 54lb transom mount watersnake and see if it pushes it along, that will give you some idea. Main issue wil lbe current / tide in salt, should be OK infresh I'd say.

Be great as a dam boat, I'd not use a boat with electric only in a river with a current or tidal flow. Max speed would be about 5kph, not enough to make reasonable headway against a current.

54 would be perfect size for it. Batteries, half day on a dam, 120amp hour, full day, 2 batteries to be safe.

the 54 will push that boat along at over 3 knts easily....in most conditions with a full battery mate..
