Are there any threadies caught on the Gold Coast?

Hi all,

Just reading the post on Threadies in the Brisbane River, I was wondering why I don't hear of any catches on the Gold Coast.

When I was a kid I used to catch them up to a foot long on prawns in the Runaway Bay canals and also in the Broadwater. But nothing like the size I am seeing being caught in the Brissie......, and I haven't caught one in years, even when using prawns or livies.

Is anyone catching them down here???

I have not tried for them on the gold coast but have gotten plenty of bait size puttynose threadies in the castnet down that way Death Ray

Yeah me too, also on the herring jig... But no big ones!
