Hi,

Just reading all the posts about Tangalooma Island and want to know that since i wont be going camping but staying at the resort - Does anyone know if they have fishing charters that cater for kids and if we have to bring our own equipment??? thanks :cheer:

Tangalooma is on Moreton Island. (There are resorts on Moreton Island there called Tangalooma Island though)

I don't think there are any charters operating from there, just the ferry/barge to and from Moreton. Beautiful place though, take some fishing gear with you as I'm sure you can catch plenty of fish there

oops i forgot to write "Resort" after that coz thats where i want ot stay.. i knew it was on Moreton Island..sorry didnt want to sound dumb or blonde!!!!

You can also hire out kayaks there. So id take a rod and some plastics and fish around the wrecks. That would be awesome fun.

Also there is a jetty there which would be good at night i reckon.

Squid jigs might also be in ordeR?

Yeah, there is a jetty at tanga, dunno about its fishing though.

There's some deep water in VERY close in some areas near tanga, if you do some live baiting at all, dont be scared to use some heavier line.

thanks for all that info...I think i might email them and see what they have available! Live Bait...umm still thinking about that...not :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: will need to wear gloves!!!!

last time i fished the jetty in a arvo we saw 2 big kingys bout a metre lol and a big rick about 60cm

the main problem with the jetty is that the fish there are used to seeing lines etc in the water there really really really hard to even hook let alone catch with the pilons there
