    Got in a car crash last night. You wouldn't believe it, T boned. Just missed a Limousin too. The other driver reckons he wasn't drinking, but I call Bull. My horn blew so loud, was a Longhorn too, and he just couldn't Steer away. He also just left the footy cause he still had his Jersey on. Said his name was Angus Bradford.

  6. Look at the actual size of the reels imo. If shimano are like diawa and have say 8000, 10 000 and 14 000 size reels with the same sized body then get the biggest one. It's a no brainer. They're all the same size reel physically, just a different spool capacity. If they're all different then go with what the others here are suggesting. Rods. I recommend a Diawa Spartan or one of the Nomad designs. They're expensive though.
  7. Copy that. My method is purely for sashimi only. We were on big cat reality and the skipper mentioned sashimi Spanish Mackerel. Barry the chef, and many others on board thought Scotty was joking. Barry did the above method and every afternoon from then on was sashimi Spanish. Finally something that Spanish is good for. Sorry, I've caught lots in the past and don't really eat it any more.
  8. Not sure. It was done with Spanish for me. Was spot on. I don't think you want to much moisture in the flesh as it makes it hard to cut and turns the flesh to goo when handled while cutting. Possibly why tuna works well.
  9. Put the fillet in a chux overnight in the fridge. Do not freeze. Then serve. Firms the flesh.

Brian started out novice and now 13 odd yrs later he's still going. Followed him for years. That's Livin. I hope it all goes smoothly and definitely put up tails of your journeys. You'd find a deckie or two in the online groups that will sail legs with you etc. Don't have to be solo, unless you want to.

That mouth of theirs is super tough, so unless it head shook to get off and the line didn't go slack then I'd say you had a foul hook up similar to this, but I got mine.

  22. Good on NSW. I'm not sure on size and bags effectiveness either. It saved them from extinction, that's for sure but I would have thought for a fish so easy to catch that their numbers would still be dropping, even with the current size and bag quotas. I hope I am wrong.
