Any Advice For My Gear?

Hi y'all. Hope enjoying fishing life.

I usually fishing at beach and jetty in NSW.

My first gear was small 7' Shimano rod with 4000 reel.

I tried to surf fishing but it was too short for surf. (epic fail)

So I purchased this gear below.

Rod: PENN Surfmaster SUMS-27/425T

   - Price: A$130

   - Length: 4.25m

   - Max Line Weight: PE Max size 3, Nylon Max size 6

Reel: PENN Surfblaster 7000

   - Price: A$120

And I ordered size 3 star shaped sinker (80g).

 

Can I begging y'all right size of hook, line and sinker for my new rod?

And what's the best rig setting for sandy surf fishing and rocky surf fishing?

Main line I like 14lb. Leader will depend on conditions and what you're targeting.

Around the rocks I like a ball sinker on the hook. It helps with snags and I believe the bites are felt easier. Smallest sinker to suit conditions.

In the surf I like a trace 18 - 24 inches and a surf sinker size 2 -3.

If you're fishing for bream/dart then a 2/0 baitholder hook is a good start. If chasing whiting then a Size 2 longshank. Tailor - gang of 3 3/0 or 4/0 hooks is the go. I prefer Tru Turns.
