Yeah, all good, but I still advocate the use of wide mouth or circle hooks when bait fishing, I've caught hundreds of bass and yellas on bait with them, and never got anything but a mouth hook up. Worst case is when a hook comes through the top lip near an eye.

I caught a bream once at Kooka... gill hooked the little fella so i decided to take it home and c what happens.. put him in my tank.. and a few days later the hook was on the bottom of the tank...

im thinking as it was gill hooked, the regeneration speed of the gills may be heaps faster and basicly grew out.. Kind of like when someone gets a eyebrow ring that is not done right and it too can just grow out... it sorta of just slowly gets rejected from the body i guess, and is sorta forced towards the surface of the skin.

This was for a gill hook and not a hookup in the throat.. i was shoked to c how fast it happend, but in saying that it could have been a fluke and i have never bothered to do it again..

Anyone else got any theroies on this?
