Depends on where abouts you mean at the Pin. I would stay wel clear of any breaking or fast running water and keep an eye on change of tides...

Mate it's the swell that's 3 metres not the chop inside he bay/pin. It's the wind you'd be looking out for, and so far the forecast looks good. There's plenty of islands to explore and shelter you from the wind around there. Might be a bit hairier around Kalinga bank. Have a look at Nugget's map and plug some of the points into your GPS, you should be able to jag some flatties somewhere down there I reckon.
