Gold Coast breamin

Hey all,

Went for a fish yesterday with Raymond (Rayman) around the Gold Coast. He was yet to catch a surface bream and I knew a spot that had been producing for me the last few weeks. So we headed off, arriving at the not so early time of 10am. Anyway not too much to say, il let the pics do most the talking.

I started off throwing a chubby and managed 3 fish pretty quickly, all small. I changed lure to experiment and managed a nice fish on a 4inch Damiki Bing.

Ray was fishn slowly behind without luck. I managed a few fish on surface, throwing a PX45 and then called Ray up to me and he tied on a small popper.

We could see the fish tailing in less than 30cm of water, so Ray threw out a cast and straight away hooked up but unfortunately pulled the hooks.

I carried on getting fish on the px45, the size of fish seem to increase with the surface lures. It was frustrating at times with some big fish coming right up to the lures and just swimming off.

Ray changed to a Tiemco pencil and sure enough had a big bream come out of the water and hit the lure, which quickly ended with a bust off.

After tying on another lure we kept on and I got a few more fish around the 28-30cm mark. This one caught on a Damiki MU45

Ray still being fishless continued on until finally he was finally rewarded and managed his first surface bream, not huge but a first none the less.

After that we moved to a nearby canal and I managed 3 more small bream in quick time and that was it for the day.

Heres Ray with his first surface bream caught on a Daiwa Lazy Gekibijin.
