While getting the fish ready for batter and the oil, I had no beer left, so I just added Coke and it works as well if not better as it creates a sweeter batter.

1 cup plain flour

1 teaspoon salt

Enough coke (or beer) to get to a nice mix.

My brother has an awesome coke recipie, i would never have eaten itif he told me what he's done but it was awesome, he puts a leg of pork into a slow cooker with about three liters of coke and cooks for 6 or 7 hour. It must be unhealthy but it tastes awesome!
