mermaid mackerel

its been a great year for me on the gold coast with the small black marlin coming in close on the inshore reefs. then the mackerel hit was thick this season and i have ended up with some great catches. i've found the water warmer this season than previous years with some of the marlin i caught just 1km off the beach. hope it stays this way for a while yet and the weather improves.

yes its already been a good fishing year so far and can't wait till winter for the snapper season.

How long since you got a black tugger? Have been trying and still keen to get a solo marlin this year. And without giving away any secrets, roughly were did you get them? off mermaid or somewhere different?

got my marlin from the gravel patch off burleigh montain look for the bait schools and try and get slimmies. we then anchored up to the best bait balls on the sounder
