queensland Best time of year to catch threadfin salmon??

Hey Fella's just wondering when is the best time of the year to catch threadfin salmon

There isn't really a distinct period. They seem to be caught year round in the river

Tried for them the other day, no luck. They dont like fresh water alot, well in the middle reaches anyway. But yeah, caught all year round.

Yeah I tried on friday with no luck and was wondering about this. Even had a few live prawns wich got me a really nice pb flatty but still no thready, might have to try again this arv.

they were plenty showing on the sounder in my favourite hole last night but they weren't interested in anything we through at them

Thats cos i wasn't there :laugh: how come they weren't takeing? seem to always pull them from the hole?

my theory is that the barometer took a massive plunge yesterday and nothing was biting not even a catfish

they're generally considered an "all year round" species so any time in the river is worth a try. just fish the slack tides with live bait sitting close to the bottom.
