First timer needs help

Hi y'all

I am a first timer who just started thinking about fishing as a hobby.

I have no idea about fishing at all and would like to ask you professional anglers or anyone who would care to introduce this noob to fishing.

I'm living in Brisbane city and looking into going fishing this weekend.

So, I'd like to know where the best location for the first timer is and what equipment I need for fishing.

g'day suchi, my tip would be you better make it quick, the weekend is nearly gone! manly jetty or the , william gunn jetty as it's better known as, will no doubt see you catch something, also close by is the rock wall leading out into the bay from the marina, expect to catch bream, pike, squire, whiting, dart, and prob others as well, as thats what i have caught in 3 trips so far.
