daiwa sol issues

just recently my sol has started to screw up. although it is alright when no pressure is applied it isnt too good when i run line through it. whenever i run line with a bit of pressure through it it starts screaming realllllllyy loud and feels very rough. anyone maybe know why? btw, i got it serviced about 2 weeks ago.

Sounds like the roller bearing might have gone. Both my sols needed to have their's replaced and were good as new after doing so. Kind of a running theme with daiwa's unfortunately.

why wouldnt they have picked that up when i got it serviced? do they test the reels with pressure after they do the job?

yep sounds like a line roller bearing

about 2 bucks i think and easy as pie to install

had/have plenty of daiwa reels, but the sols are the ones that seem to suffer from this issue.

apparently there is a higher quality roller bearing (cost a few bucks more) that stops this from recurring.

Not sure why it wasn't picked up on it is hard to know if there is no line through the reel but still... but yep they can be ordered through TW if you want. Mine were about $14 each from memory. There might be cheaper places but i'm not sure as little or no profit is made through spare parts just the shipping costs are recovered.

yeah it's pretty bad probably only cost a buck or two to make.
