Your Live and cut bait techniques

Ok, I like hard bodies and SP, but I still enjoy a good evening on the river using live or cut baits.

Some things I have found most interesting are butterflied mullet or mullet head for jew, among other tecniques (I am unaware on how to do this properly or when to use it).

Here is my method for live baiting Herring, straight through the back above the spine.

Simple sinker,swivel and leader setup on a circle hook.

The fish stays alive and I have caught thready, Flathead, cod and Bream on this rigg.

So anyone got any good live bait or cut bait techniques you want to share, please post them up.

This is the setup I use for livies, be they herring or mullet, works good, have caught bream and jew using it.

Ha ha, I reckon it'll work! Colmslie is not much to judge such things by.....I will take them for a better test run up at the boat passage tomorrow. Those who laugh last, laugh hardest....I hope I get the last laugh, or I will be trying BBQ sauce next!

Im not saying it wont work, i rekkon the bread and butter fish will love it!! you and moparkev shooud get together and invent an instant bait :laugh:

Good one Ryan, thats a pretty standard bait in the river and it works too, I was also wondering about fish heads and butterflied mullet.

something out of the ordinary.
