Coochin Ck Whiting 5.12.2009

It's been a while since I submitted a report, with the back not allowing me much fishing time (and missing the BRC because of it). Deckie'd for a neighbour (Neil), who fishes the Coochin Ck area a lot. Aim was to nail a few good summer whiting, with the ultimate catching a few over the 40cm mark.

Hit the water around 7am to allow a bit of water around the ramp at the end of Roys Rd. BTW: Roys Rd was closed and we needed to detour up through Bells Ck Rd for anyone going up there. Neil had dug rock works. wrigglers through the week and boy were they solid worms. He has his secret spots for these. Funny enough, he doesn't want a hand digging for them ;)

Fished a series of spots around the Coochin Ck mouth and all produced a few fish. Most were summer whiting around the 30cm, a couple went around 37cm. Throw a couple of grunter in the mix and it proved to be a great day. Neil was a little disappointed with the results, but his bad days are probably my good ones.

No extra large whiting, but there is always the next trip.

Have a great week,
