Bribie canal advice?

Hi all,

Am taking the family up to Bribie for the week between Christmas and new year and am contemplating taking the yaks. I have had no experience fishing the canals at Bribie so I was hoping for some advice. Having the young fella on the back of my yak I want to steer clear of the boating traffic in the passage if possible. Is the fishing in the canals as good as it looks from google maps? Are there any launch points in the canals or do I need to launch in the passage and make my way into them from there? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I've fished the canals a few times and the spots I have launched from are a couple of minutes paddle away across shallow water, so the boat traffic should be minimal. The canals at Bribie have produced a lot of whiting and flathead for me on each trip and the occasional bream. Should be enough nibbles to keep the boy busy.
