Bream on fly??

hey all

i'm in NZ right now on holidays and my uncle got me a fly outfit for chasing trout in a lake near him. we went out with no luck but it was great fun and i enjoyed learning how to do it.

i normally fish simple places like nudgee, shorncliffe jetty, schultz, cabbage tree creek and places like that with lures and a spin outfit.

not too much luck there and wondering if i used flies if it'd be something different for the fish and they'd take it.

gonna try anyways, but just curious if any of you have tried something like that and had any luck

cheers,

David

Better educated bream in marinas and other heavily fished areas often will succumb to deceivers in natural colours. I have most success with clear intermediate line and a small brown patterned fly slowly sinking next to a pontoon with nearly no action.

Its definitely worth giving it a go. An extra skill to master in the fishing caper. And some guys are using small plastics on their fly gear with success too.
