Mate there are several options you have all in and around Peregian.

Beach: As Andrew said Bream, Whiting, Dart and flatties are all readily available. Eugaries (pippies) are readily caught on the beach if you know the trick. Have you ever caught beach worms? If not the local tackle shop sells them for about $3 for 2 (these are meter lonf worms by the way). Just fish the gutters and you bound to get a fish. I hope you havea surf rod though as Peregian beach is a rough one!

Creek: Stumers Creek is close by as well for lighter fishing. Its a thin creek colored by tanin so it looks like tea. This creek is great for the usual creek suspects, Flatheas, Jacks, Cod and Good size bream.

Rocks: Point Arkright at Coolum is good for tailor and the odd jew. Id use pillies.

River: If all else fails the Noosa river is only a few minutes north. This river offers loads of options from sand bars, pontoons, bridges etc. Expect everything!
