Thought i would chuck up a quick post, went to the local weir/creek out here near work in the south burnett. on private property and is stocked by a local fishing club with only 20 members. got my first ever bass there before chrissy.

Today i got this nice 42.5cm was a PB i was pretty stoked. on my fav olive spinner bait. a really nice heavy Bass. and a great fight on 6lb leader in and around the weeds

Then i chucked on a gidgee ripple crank, but i got cheeky and tied a fly on to the end treble with about 30 or 40 cm of leader. there was lots of surface action so i thought why not.........

then i found out why not......

First cast 3 or 4 cranks in the fly gets smashed. at this stage i thought i was super clever. the fish was a good 15, 20 metres from the bank then next thing you know the lure gets smashed as well...... a double hook up. i i thought i was really clever then. but 2 bass vs 6lb line = bass win.

Now i need a new olive top, pink belly ripple crank Duke...
