What's this fish please

Caught a couple of these out on the 24's from the seaway this morning, thought they were cobia at first. Can anyone one tell me what they are. Are these the fish that swim with whales.

Funny angle, but looks like a remora or sucker fish. Did it have a suction pad on its back?

Yes, like a flat forehead with a grid pattern,very strange.

You're not the first to mistake one for a cobia Bri - I got very excited on a charter boat off Hervey Bay when I was about 14 til I found out it wasn't one. DOOHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Yes mate plenty of blood stains,mainly pilchard blood.

Good little remora mate, Never caught one before, do they fight at all??

I was recently up north and caught one of these that was 66cm. The added bonus was that it was my first ever fish on soft plastics :cheer:
