new south wales Ebor / New England Trout

Heading to Ebor and the general New England area next Thursday to chase some trout :cheer:

I dont spose anyone on here was lucky enough to get down there over the weekend for the season opening, if you did let us know how you went!

I am so keen after missing all last season, and have heard the trout are in for a great year after all the rain at the start of the year, so heres hoping we might be back to the good days of 100+ fish a day!

Will try to get a report up when we get back.

good luck mate. i havent chased trout for a little while. we used to fish that area and also deep water up it the hills for them, great fish on 3lb line.

what are you mainly targeting them on, fli, solters ect?????????????

Yeah we have always just fished for them with celta spinners, they are without doubt the best lure for small stream trout. But I have got a few new lures I want to try this year (just little bream lures etc) to try to tempt the big fellas out of some of the bigger pools.

I would love to catch them on fly, but its hard considering I am useless with the fly rod and when everyone else around me is braining them on lures.

Might even find time to tempt a big bass out of the upper clarence on the way back with a bit of luck....
