Whyte Island Boat ramp

Any news on the pontoon being set up there?

I was down there a couple of weeks ago and just wondering on the progress :-)

I think it is set to be finished early December. I can't wait to use it. I enjoy the odd solo trip from that ramp so having a pontoon will make it so much easier than leaving your boat tied up to the rocks and having wave action knock it up against those rocks that are on both sides of the ramp.

Arr another lone sailor, yeah there's extra planning involved launching and retrieving by yourself isn't there :-)

Might launch from there tonight and check on the progress.

Going to launch there Sunday morning, so I will check it out as well. There is more to think about when you are launching and retrieving on your own, including what can you leave in the boat while you go to get the car, whether you are holding up other people, will the boat still be there when I get back to it etc etc. The other issue with Whyte Island is sometimes the grassy area is locked off on perfect boating days and if you are not there early there is nowhere to park.
