Hey guys.... just wondering where is the cheapest place to buy these lures, these are sometimes hard to find coz i hear japan only does one production of these a year so let me know where to get them at a good price

I got mine from tackleworld at Sandgate - $24.99ea. not cheapest around but also no postage (ie Motackle)

i know of a tackle shop down the coast that has them for $22 each , cant remember what its called, was there last weekend with a mate, but they didnt have the colours i want

i think they sell pretty fast, sometimes i see them there sometimes they are sold out.. you just have to be there at the right time

yeah ive been using the kokoda cicada well they call it "the Bst" they seem to go ok but sometimes they dont swim properly

They don't have to swim mate, cicadas don't swim so imitate a cicada.

ant dont cicadas swim around in a circle when they hit the water , lol i dont think my rod tip work is that good

You can get partway there though, not around in circles but can certainly send off some good signals.

true.... ive done pretty good on the kokoda cicadas, bass seem to smash them, here is the last one i got, he went for the first strike and missed the hook up , a couple of flicks of the rod tip brought him back for a solid hookup and boy did he run

Good lure, the Tiemco Cicada.

I have found a good action is to flick the rod tip back and forth rapidly. This makes the lure rotate on the surface in pretty much the one spot, allowing you to make the most of that lucky cast into the keyhole. Any colour seems to work, although I prefer the more natural ones. The bumblebee one isn't too natural for the local area, although I have caught plenty on them.

They are my go-to lure from the yak.

Who cares about price too much on a surface lure? You should rarely lose one if at all in freshwater. I have lost a few poppers to GT's and Tailor when fishing for bream though ;-)
